Congratulations on making the decision to repent and ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior! But what does that really mean? As a new Christian, it’s important to understand the blessings that come with this new relationship.
First and foremost, when you ask Jesus to forgive your sins, your relationship with God is restored. This means that you are reconciled to God, and you will not experience His wrath and condemnation. As Romans 5:10 says, “For if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”
But that’s not all. You are now a child of God because God the Father has adopted you. This is a tremendous blessing, especially for those who grew up in a fatherless home. You are now part of God’s family and His kingdom, as Romans 5:10 confirms.
Furthermore, the moment you receive salvation, the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) comes to live in you. As Ephesians 1:12-13 says, “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” This means that God is now living in you, and you are His temple. It might sound strange or scary, but the Holy Spirit is there to teach and comfort you, as John 14:26 confirms.
As a new Christian, there are many blessings waiting for you. It’s important to start reading the New Testament of the Bible, and ask God in the name of Jesus to open your eyes to know Him and His will for your life. Trust in Him and surrender your life to Him, and He will guide and provide for you according to the riches of His glory. Remember, we have a GREAT God who loves us and is the creator of the Universe.
In conclusion, becoming a Christian is the best decision you can make, and it comes with so many blessings. Keep growing in your faith and always remember that God is with you every step of the way.
